Balance: A Spacious Artwork in Light Industrial Style

One of the unique features of the Balance design is the absence of a barrier between the living room and the library. To achieve this seamless integration, a U-shaped wood decoration panel extends from the wall to the ceiling, serving two purposes: hiding the crossbeam and creating an invisible division between the two areas. This innovative design element not only enhances the visual appeal of the space but also adds a touch of elegance.

The unification of the sofa and the desk is another standout feature of the Balance design. This clever design choice not only creates a more spacious visual effect but also offers the residents multiple functional appearances. Whether it's a cozy reading nook or a productive workspace, this design effortlessly adapts to the needs of the homeowners.

The visual design of the space elevations in the Balance design is centered around the use of wood texture, emphasizing balance and harmony. The television wall, made of deep gray natural slate, adds a lively touch with its gradient irregular arrangement and twill. The contrast between the deep gray slate and the warm wood walls creates an interesting interplay of color temperature and texture.

Storage is a key consideration in the Balance design, and the designer has utilized cabinets as a means to increase storage space and streamline traffic flow. By incorporating warm wood colors with industrial cold black-gray tones, and adding a three-dimensional pattern with black flames on the wood surfaces, the design achieves an energetic appearance with irregular blocks.

The Balance design project, located in Taipei, Taiwan, was completed between January and March 2019. Throughout the design process, the focus was on achieving balance and stability. The open public area, which includes a dining room and living room, allows for a seamless circulation of light and shadows, creating a more spacious visual effect and maximizing sunlight exposure.

Recognized for its exceptional design and practicality, the Balance design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020.
